The Giveaway: #Free books on #Nook, #Kobo, #iTunes Bookstore and more

Quite a few of the ongoing characters in my murder-less mystery series are Apache, and one of their customs is the giveaway. On special occasions, the family at the center of the event gives gifts to the community. Nothing necessarily expensive, but practical, simple things anyone can use. I like the idea of celebrating by giving. The release date for my next book is approaching, and I just had a birthday, so I decided to celebrate both these events by giving books away.

Three books will be free for sixty days. (Guess my age.) The Calling, book one in the Mae Martin Psychic Mystery Series, The Outlaw Women, the short prequel to the series, and Bearing, the standalone short read based on Apache myths. I call Bearing “subtle horror.” No gore or monsters, just the scare that creeps up.

Help yourself to one or to all three. Just click on the titles to find download links to all retailers. (Despite my requests, Amazon has not made The Outlaw Women free yet at the time of this posting, but heck, this blog is for people who don’t have Kindles, right?)

Happy reading, and happy Halloween. Any authors with free books that are available on Nook, Kobo and Apple, feel free to reply with the buy links from your web site.

The Calling

The first Mae Martin Psychic Mystery

Obeying her mother’s warning, Mae Martin-Ridley has spent years hiding her gift of “the sight.” When concern for a missing hunter compels her to use it again, her peaceful life in a small Southern town begins to fall apart. New friends push her to explore her unusual talents, but as she does, she discovers the shadow side of her visions— access to secrets she could regret uncovering.

Gift or curse? When an extraordinary ability intrudes on an ordinary life, nothing can be the same again.

The Mae Martin Series

No murder, just mystery. Every life hides a secret, and love is the deepest mystery of all.
